Ditch the Humber Bridge Debt

Date Created: 08/01/2010

Denis Healy is fighting to for the Humber Bridge debt to be scrapped as soon as possible, in order to abolish or severely reduce tolls for the bridge.

Recently it was announced that there were to be no increase in bridge tolls for the near future. However this has left a £100,000 black hole to be filled, 98% of which could fall upon the Hull taxpayer to pay.

‘There is still a massive £350 million debt to be repaid from the building of the bridge,’ said Denis Healy.

‘Unless the Government takes action to scrap the debt on the bridge, Hull residents will have to put up with toll rises for many years to come,’ he added.
